Daughter of the supremely talented Dundeel, 3YO filly DUNLANI from Teralani (Danehill Dancer (IRL) relished the step up to a 1600m 3YO+ fillies and mares at set weights. She was the class act in claiming her first win by a convincing two lengths – no wonder jockey Linda Meech couldn’t stop smiling when she returned to scale. Tried twice as a 2YO over 1100-1200m, the filly then enjoyed a lengthy autumn-winter spell at her owners’ Rolsworthy Pastoral property and came back in impressive condition, quickly coming to hand for a solid return over 1300m and then only a fortnight’s recuperation before today’s win. She’ll progress now and build on her four starts, giving every indication that the longer trips will suit perfectly. An autumn Oaks anyone?

Congratulations to our loyal owners Kevin and Prue Riddell. Kudos to you for selecting the filly from the 2017 Inglis Classic Yearling Sale – how brilliant that her dam is a full sister to $3.4 million stakeswinner PRIVATE STEER, the Champion 3YO Filly in Australia 2002-2003 and producer herself. We thank you for entrusting DUNLANI to Cumani Racing, we think she’s a cracker!
