MISS DAIQUIRI, daughter of Bernardini x Mango Daiquiri (a Cape Cross mare) won neatly on debut at Werribee in an 1100m maiden for 3yo fillies at set weights (57kg). The field was reduced to five runners, but the style in which she ran and won suggests a promising career lies ahead. With Dean Holland up, she began well and took command of the race straight away, running truly and sweetly. In the home straight she streaked off for an effortless 4.3L win.

We would like to acknowledge fellow Victorian trainer Mitch Beer for his astute selection of this filly at the Karaka 2017 Select Yearling Sale for a very skinny $10,000.

Dam Mango Daiquiri raced in Victoria under Pat Carey for 4 wins/5 places and earning of $190K. Her dam, Audencia (IRE) (half-sister to multiple G1 winner/producer Cherokee Rose), was bred by Sheikh Mohammad then exported to New Zealand where she was mated to the best there; her yearling fillies sold well, including two by Zabeel ($500K and $240K).

Congratulations to all Miss Daiquiri’s owners. Drinks all round!
